Acknowledging the Shadow Self
Witness your fear, embrace your wholeness, and live in light
🩶 Why This Guide Exists
Halloween / Samhain is a time when the veil between worlds grows thin. Not only between the living and the departed, but between the parts of ourselves we show and those we keep hidden.
The Lemurians understand that darkness isn’t the enemy of light. Darkness is light in a state of potential. Wholeness requires both.
This guide was created as a companion to Embracing the Darkness of Halloween: Turning fear into insight and darkness into power. Together, they form a complete reflection-and-practice pair for this season of transition.
Inside this resource, you’ll find:
Light Through the Mask — a creative activity for exploring your seen and unseen self.
The Candle of Reflecting Shadows— a guided practice to witness and honor your fears.
Daily Shadow Practices — simple ways to balance light and dark energy in everyday life.
Shadow Affirmation — a closing phrase to ground your practice and carry the light within.
Each section helps you explore your relationship with fear, uncover the wisdom it holds, and transform its energy into understanding.
🎭 Light Through the Mask
Purpose: To acknowledge both your seen and unseen selves.
During Halloween, masks appear everywhere as playful symbols of disguise. This activity turns that symbolism inward, helping you understand what you reveal and what you conceal.
You’ll need:
A plain paper mask (or a drawing of one)
Colored pencils or pens
Steps:
On the outside of the mask, draw or write the qualities you show the world: your strengths, roles, and outer expressions.
On the inside (or second sheet), write what you keep hidden: your doubts, fears, desires, and unspoken truths.
When finished, hold both sides to your heart and say:
“Both sides are me. Both are light in different forms.”
Integration begins the moment you stop hiding from yourself.
