The Real Reason You Keep Spiraling...and How to Stop
For anyone stuck in the past or worrying about the future.
Welcome to Lumer Council, where ancient Lemurian wisdom meets everyday life.
Subscribe to explore practical spirituality, intuitive living, and the messages that help us evolve into higher consciousness one grounded step at a time.
Think of all the times you replayed something you said five years ago or wondered how your life would look if you had made a different choice. Or the nights you lay awake imagining every possible future outcome, worrying about the ones that have not even happened. We all slip into the past or rush ahead into the future without meaning to.
Most of us know what it is like to feel caught between the past we judge and the future we fear. A single memory can reopen an old regret. A single dream can turn into a list of what could go wrong. It is easy to feel pulled in both directions and forget that the present is the only place where anything can actually shift.
If you know that feeling, this message will speak to you. It gives a simple reminder that is easy to overlook, yet powerful when you return to it. The present moment is where clarity comes back. It is where you can make decisions that move you forward instead of spiraling you out.
If you have been caught between regret and worry, what comes next may help you find your footing again. It helped me find mine, and I believe it can do the same for you.
🌊 Lumer Council Message
🎙️You can listen to the live recording of this Lemurian channeling session: Creating Your Path Between Past and Future
Turn back around. Don’t let it stop you. Keep moving forward.
Turn back around. Don’t dwell on the past. The past is past. It’s not happening now.
Turn back around. Focus on the present. The present will get you to your future goals.
See the future, but don’t dwell on it, because the future hasn’t happened yet.
Your future, the one that you make and create, is the one you build right now in the present.
Turn back around from the past. Turn back around into the present.
You turn back around into the future. The future is yours for the making.
🌀 Taking It In
This message hits close because when I look to the past, I rarely stay with the parts that helped me grow. I usually start with good intentions, wanting to acknowledge how far I’ve come, but I drift straight into regret.
I replay old choices and conversations and I’m hard on myself. I think about what I should have said or done differently, and I slip into shame before I even realize it.
The future is similar. I begin with hope. I picture my goals and feel excited about where I’m headed. But if I stay there too long, worry shows up.
What if people don’t like what I write? What if friends read my Substack and think I’m strange? What if being seen costs me connections I care about?
Hope turns into fear, and fear turns into spiraling.
The present is the only place that doesn’t pull me apart. When I’m here, right now, I’m not judging my past and I’m not catastrophizing the future. There are no regrets in this exact moment. No what-ifs. Just the next small step that’s in front of me.
Being in the present is where I can actually use my past instead of being haunted by it. It’s where I can refine my future instead of fearing it.
When I’m creating from this moment, I can tell what’s helpful and what’s just an old pattern trying to pull me back.
So when I catch myself wandering into regret or spinning into future worry, I turn back around. Back to now. Back to where movement actually happens.
🌱 SimpleShift: The Two-Minute Turnaround
Step 1: The Mini Brave Choice
Pick one tiny task you have avoided. Keep it small and visible.
Step 2: The Two-Minute Deal
Set a timer for 2 minutes. That is all you need for this task.
Step 3: The Micro-Move
Do only the first piece of it.
Examples:
• Title a new draft
• Move one idea into your Substack
• Send the reply you keep avoiding
• Clear one corner of your desk
Step 4: The Proof You Needed
When the timer ends, stop and look at what changed.
You will see progress you can point to. A small win you created in real time.
And that visible shift pulls you back into the present, where momentum actually lives.
Try it once today. Two minutes. One micro-move. A result that reminds you you’re building your future right now.

This shift connects closely to a message shared in Stop the Longing. Do the Doing.
That post explored how longing can hold us still, while small actions in the present move us forward.

Just a short note - I ackowledge my past and the experiences as rewarding, all leading to who I am today. I am grateful for those experiences, good, bad, or whatever. I do not dwell or say what if...I am who I am today with all that I am and I love who I am, perceived faults and all. I am working on the present to build a future where I continue to grow and thrive and live in light and joy.
